Untuk menjadi mahasiswa unggulan pondok pesantren calon harus lulus salah satu pola seleksi, baik melalui pola seleksi CBT, PBT maupun PSB dan lulus tes khusus yang diselenggarakan oleh Pondok Pesantren UII.
